Why create a stage play?

Explain the differences in creating a story for Film vs. the Stage. What are the limitations for stage? What are the advantages for both? And why would a playwright choose to write a play for the stage vs. for a film ?

Need for Drama?

Why do we need stories at all? With all the excitement available in contemporary life, why do people watch plays, films, and television shows that create an imaginary world? Isn't the real world stimulating enough, without imagining other ones?
